How to display and report errors
Use this guide when a button, a menu or another part of a BAPLIE Viewer Online page does not work. Support may ask you to send the error messages from your browser. The console is a part of your browser that lists these messages. This guide shows how to open it and how to send the information to us.
Before you start: the console can show private data, for example the address of a page or an email address. Look at your screenshot before you send it. Hide anything that you do not want to share. Never send your password.
-
Open the page that has the problem. Write down:
- the name of the page and what you clicked,
- the time when the problem happened,
- the name of the file you were using (if any).
-
Open the developer console. Press the keys for your browser:
Browser Windows Mac Chrome Ctrl + Shift + J Cmd + Option + J Firefox Ctrl + Shift + K Cmd + Option + K Edge F12, then click Console Cmd + Option + I, then click Console Safari – Cmd + Option + C You can also right-click the page and choose Inspect (or Inspect Element). In Safari, first turn on the developer tools in the Safari settings (Advanced, then Show features for web developers).
-
The console opens at the side or at the bottom of the browser window. Click the Console tab (1 in the picture).
-
Do the same steps again that caused the problem. You can also refresh the page.
-
Look at the list. Errors are red (2 in the picture). Warnings are yellow (3 in the picture).

- Take a screenshot that shows the browser window with the console open. Check that it does not show a password or other private data.
- Select the error text in the console and copy it. Then follow How to contact Support and create a support ticket. Paste the text into Issue Description. Add the notes from step 1 and the steps you did to reach the problem.
Note: the picture shows example messages only. The messages you see will be different.
